Monthly Archives: October 2012

This is my ultimate wish and my theme for my 27th birthday, for which, I celebrated last, last Monday, Oct. 8. For 2 days, I’ve been posting on FB and tweeting about a little request on my special day — simple, I just want people to post happy pictures on my wall so as to spread happiness as it is viewable over the feeds and my timeline. I also mentioned that I’ll randomly choose a recipient of a ‘happy’ gift, of which, even if it is just a small token, it’s my way of sharing my appreciation to my friends and family who’ve been with me through all these years.

I’d like to have a keepsake of this special activity, so I’m sharing with you the Happy Pictures collection that poured in during that day as posted by my closests friends and family (ordered alphabetically, according to the names of those who posted):

1. Ann Tan (MBA classmate, AGSB/ “sis”) – Whatsapp

2. Dessy Batoon (College Classmate,UST) – FB

3. Edel Cajucom (my sister) – FB

4. Gel Allas (College dormmate) – FB

5. Jessica Chua (UST college friend/ “sis”) – Twitter

6. Kate Guillermo (UST College classmate/ my “ate kate”) – Twitter

7. King Lao (Codeworks officemate) – FB

8. MC Santos (UPPC Officemata/ kumare) – FB

9. Mon Yu (my Scarlet ‘shoti’) – FB message

10. Paolo Macatbag (SGV friend) – BBM

11. Ralph Luna (childhood bestfriend) – Twitter

12. Randy Flores (Codeworks officemate) – FB

13. Rhoda Malazarte (my cousin) – FB

So to help me pick the lucky recipient of my HAPPY TREAT…I used to generate a number (using the same numbering as above).

and the winner is…

number 5 and that is…

and you won this treat…

Congratulations!!! I shall personally give you your treat!!!

Thank you to everybody who participated this little activity. You all made my day extra happy and the effort really made me feel very important on my day! Make happiness viral…share it, give it and ‘infect’ others with it!

May God bless YOU a hundredfold!

***wait, I think I was too excited about this, my mind got mixed up! I think I should be writing either “thank you for BEING A PART of my ‘happiness’ campaign” or “thank you for taking part ON my ‘happiness’ campaign”. Forgive me!!!

Last 10 of the 27 things on my birthday wishlist (3)

Finally…the last blog I’m gonna do as a 26-year-old lady, and definitely giving you the last 3 items on my year 27 wishlist.

Number 3

Only true, unselfishly and readily given and everything that is said in this verse…

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. (1 Cor. 13:4-8)

Number 2

Priorities, alottment, management…something I deserve and not to be begged, something I’m entitled to despite all the busyness that daily life brings…and something that I can make use of and maximize with all my capacity

Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! (Psalm 39:4-5)

and Number 1

Lastly, I wish for happiness…pains and trials will never be absent, yet I know fulfillment, not only of these 26 items on the list, will undoubtingly grant me this ultimate wish. I’d like to live my days with bliss and real peace within.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

And there goes my wishlist…almost half an hour to go and D-day will come knocking in…Will you rejoice with me as I welcome my 27th?

27th…is happiness 🙂

Last 10 of the 27 things on my birthday wishlist (2)

Almost birthday weekend…and the wishlist just doesn’t end yet…here are the next 5 gifts to wish for…

at number 8

I wish to be understood in as much as I have been trying to understand each and everyone who surrounds me. Somehow it is a form of care, of love, to be given that sense of understanding your ways of thinking, actions and words. Similarly, I pray for a clearer mind and heart to be able to see things in the perspective that should be and is rightful.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

Number 7

I know I’ve got this, but somehow, I’d like to be blessed with a longer one. In that waiting time, I wish to fulfill whatever is expected of me. I wish to reap fruits of this virtue but not be abused of this kindness.

Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. (James 5:7)

Number 6

All I want is to get to every extra mile’s destination, with a little push, with hopeful dreams and with positive inspiration. Yes, I need to be inspired to keep me going.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men (Colossians 3:23)

Number 5

Efforts, time and trust should never be wasted as this point. I seek assurance with faith that in everything I shall receive, I will gain the loyalty and the commitment. Likewise to everything I do or give, I pray that I’ll be given a better character to turn a word into a word-of-honor, a promise into a commitment and an affiliation into loyalty. I believe in making firm decisions and for being definite on things that matter the most. No reading between the lines.

If a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. (Numbers 30:2)

Number 4

I pray for enlightenment, for guidance. That I shall be able to know what is reality apart from the lies, to realize when I should stop or when to pursue more. I wish for enlightenment in all aspects of life, to understand it better according to the direction He is leading me to.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. (Psalm 32:8)

Last 10 of the 27 things on my birthday wishlist (1)

October 1st

At last…my most awaited month has finally arrived; and exactly one week from now is the “D”-day!

I’ve shared insights, blogged and collaged pictures of the 17 stuff I wish I’ll have during the countdown that I personally did for myself. Some of them has been given by friends, some I bought already for myself, and a few more things I think that I’ll leave to the ‘just wishing list’. Nevertheless, I enjoyed looking out for these stuff over the internet and even during my window shoppings!

I know the list will go endless given that day-by-day, there are new promos, deals and products that man can ever develop and sell. So for the remaining 10 slots on my list, I decided to wish, and even pray for these non-tangible, non-material, but very valuable gifts.

at Number 10

At the prime of my life, i believe I can do more, and real challenges are just starting to come my way! I’m excited for whatever is waiting for me, and i trust that these are what God plans for me. I seek to receive more opportunities, especially on my career and life as a whole, I wish to gain opportunities to help others, to be with the people I value, to show my abilities, to learn more and to reach places…and when I’m faced with one, I shall embrace it and make wise use of it!

Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. (Ephesians 5:15-17)

at Number 9

This wish, will not be just for me, but for the very important people in my life — my parents, my sister, relatives, my bestfriend, second bestfriend, my HS buddies, friends from everywhere, bosses, colleagues, classmates and for everybody who I love and value.

From all the losses that I had, from relatives, family friends, and even friends of my age, it made me appreciate the benefits of investing on wellness. May it be on vitamins, exercise, equipment and time spent on doing a daily routine related to keeping one’s body in shape, there is nothing wasted on giving attention to such. I am surrounded by people who have health problems of different sorts, so as much as possible, I try to keep an eye on them. So there goes my wish, I may not be a medical practitioner, but a good health (for me) will enable me to assist these people on their health and needs.

And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness (Deuteronomy 7:17)
